Our 1st honeymoon trip to Taipei in April 2005. Can't wait to use up the free ticket (SQ staff benefit) for my husband. Choose Taipei all thanks to Jacky for the advertisement on mouth watering food.

 

About 5 hours flight time to Taipei from Singapore, we check in at Grand Hyatt hotel for our 5D4N trip.

Shopping at New york new york shopping mall is the first thing we do.( have to see this mall because of the Taiwan hot idol series meteor garden). After which we went to Xi Meng Ting for my favourite oyster mee sua 阿宗麵線. It is just 5 mins walk from Xi Meng Ting train station. Xi Meng Ting is the hot youngsters hangout in Taipei, a great shopping acarde i would say. I bought myself 8 pairs of shoes from here. (heheheh can't help it). Looking for a place to rest our feet after the long walk, we pop into a bubble tea house where all their seatings are in the form of swings. (First top picture). Swing till we are too tired to go anywhere else so we decide to end our day and reserve our energy for the rest of the trip. Back to hotel Zzzzzz

Day 2 - On our own, we venture on to explore Taipei with public transport. Taxi and train are accessible anywhere in Taipei. We went to the Taipei National Palace Museum http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Palace_Museum to impart some art sense into us. After which we are off to National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiang_Kai-shek_Memorial_Hall. Night market is a must to explore in Taipei. We went to Shilin night market this night. Didn't buy much stuff but we eat & eat non stop.

 

 Day 3 - We explore Yanmingshan by train & their public bus. We ask hotel concierge for ways to travel & start our journey (Sorry to have forgotten the details) Taxi is cheap in Taipei and save alot of hassel of asking around :) There are alot to explore in Yangmingshan, sulphur hill, Lily garden, wonderful sceneries....... we went to Xi Meng Ting again that night for ma la steamboat buffet for dinner. Just pop into the restuarant where we saw their banner and are craving for some mala steamboat heheheh.

Day 4 - Last day of our trip is a rest & relax day. We went to peitou for hot spring (2nd right picture). Took train to peitou and a public bus here. We were so  lucky to have the whole place to ourselves (Guess we are too early). The soak comes with drinks and food. You can soak and eat at the same time. Hot Spring really is not my thing though. I feel giddy after less than 5 mins inside the hot spring. I prefer the cold rose flower soak instead. Spend our morning there and off to 忠孝东路走 for our meals and shopping spree. The street is famous cause of the song 忠孝东路走九遍 by 动力火车i guess.Went to the another night market call Tong Hua night market at night. Prefer shilin night market than this. 

Enjoy every moment in Taipei. Love the food, shopping, people and the convenience of getting around. My only regrets is that i didn't take much photos.
